Luxe Interior Design Trends in 2020
/STAY IN WITH STYLE
#FieldTrip
Carlton Landing is a lakefront community on Lake Eufaula in Oklahoma. This place is absolutely beautiful this time of year. The crisp fall, colorful trees and gorgeous lake view will have you cuddled up with a book on the porch or strolling with your family and friends around the friendly community.
It’s no wonder that glamping, staycations and trips to the water in the winter are more popular than ever. So we took a cue for some fresh #inspo from one of Carlton Landing’s luxury custom home builders, Scissortail Homes for the latest trends.
IN: Eclectic Designs
What I loved about Scissortail Homes is how different and unique each home was with totally different styles. This living room is such a fun space for entertaining no matter what season it is, with an emphasis on conversation by how the furniture is placed which is a huge trend versus centering living rooms solely around a gigantic television. Unless, my team is playing, then I totally get it.
Maximalist Art
While Scandinavian minimalism interior design won’t ever go out of style, only evolve, colorful maximalist art pieces are hot and will be even hotter in 2020. This maximalism art piece is the perfect size, a trendy design and splashes colors that compliment the rest of the space. Don’t be afraid to mix colors, patterns and textures throughout the room. Play around, have fun and create a space that makes ya smile.
Curved Furniture
Curved furniture isn’t a trend that will go out of style anytime soon. It’s been talked about over and over and over again as one of the top interior design trends for 2020 so this fall incorporate curved furniture like the cute millennial pink chairs in this living room. Designed for comfort, conversation and entertaining, it’s an investment that will add a luxe yet edgy vibe to any room.
IN: Bold Rooms
For years, it’s been on-trend to go all out in your kitchen. Well, in 2020, those same bold metals, chic finishes and detailed designs will enter bedrooms, living rooms and trickle throughout the rest of the house. Colors like this dark teal in this Scissortail Homes bedroom is a hue that is being raved about and obviously, you can see why. Other poppin’ colors for 2020? Hunter green, emerald green and a very bold indigo.
Modern Boho Vibe
Boho-chic will take on a new face in 2020 and this bedroom is the perfect example. Splash a statement blanket up against flower-child pillows to nail the look. The rattan nightstands are such a clutch addition at just the right oversized height and the color balances out the room. Rattan is exploding on the scene and a big reason why is because it’s a completely sustainable product that is environmentally friendly. The lights are everything. Just, yep.
IN: Black Kitchens
In one of the modern Scissortail Homes we toured, this kitchen was a jaw-dropper. Extremely sleek with a balance of dramatic black, sheer white and bright wood, it was a perfect balance of color, metals, lines and even fun glasses.
Black kitchens can add depth to a space which is perfect for open kitchen concepts. In this house, not only did it open up the kitchen but it opened up the entire room. It seamlessly flowed into living room where a gorgeous velvet, navy blue curved couch posed. Even though it’s a modern kitchen, by no means was it cold and I think incorporating black into the kitchen was a big reason why.
Lighting Is Key
Lighting is officially art. It’s so crucial to each space and Scissortail Homes are experts when it comes to setting the mood for the room. Lights are statements. They’re decor. They’re a “stop and stare.” And honestly, they should be if they are as hot and cool as the light fixture that hangs above the table in this room. In 2020, be sure to light. it. up.
